can anyone give a clear definition of exactly what a TEFV enclosure is?

TEFV stands for Totally Enclosed Fan Ventilated. I don't know if or how different this is from TEFC (Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled), meaning an external fan is mounted on the tailshaft of the motor, providing air flow over the motor case. The Totally Enclosed part just means just that.

EDIT: I just discovered that TEFV might also mean Totally Enclosed Forced Ventilated.
